I made these conceptual drawings waaaaay back in september 2005, but have not been able to post it until now. It’s concepts for how the main characters are to look like for an upcoming CG movie called Okura. I’ve never done any samurai related art works before, so this was something completely new and a quite interesting project for me. The company behind this is known from other movies, like X-men 2, James Bond, The Hulk, and computer games like Oddworld, The Matrix, and lots of other great stuff.

Very strong, I think.
I may not know a lot about this kind of art... but certainly I know my share about
Japan and I have to admit: Your upper two characters meet the common image really well.

Great work! The skintones look a little bit false and dirty though (too greyish IMO). Great work anyways, nice concepts
