Description
This is the cover illustration for the book “The Last Incarnation” by fantasy author Joseph Giunta. The birdy looks a little wierd there without the title of the book, so please take that into concideration. And yep, that's one BIG dog, he is specialI made 28 black and white interior illustrations as well, so feel free to visit my site to take a look at those

tech:
- the hands are too small for the man's body (yes I know the dog is supernormous, but I'm talking about proportions here)
- the coloring everywhere is too "here is highlight, here is midtone and here is shadow", meaning that it looks like there is NO light source anywhere. even on a cloudy day at high noon with snow everywhere, there would be a light source of some kind to differentiate the tones within say, the green shirt or the very brown hair.
Other than that, the work is well done. I would definitely work on anatomy and movement and the entire reasoning behind the design of a piece. +8/10(I never crit'ed your works before that I can remember -

starqueen: Thanks for your citiques, it's nice to get some more into depth feedback.
j-art: Thanks for your comment, Uwe
BaronImpossible: Thanks Simon, you can see what the book looks like on my site, with the text and border if this is of interest.
Obscured: Thanks, he was supposed to be wearing some simple cloth/leather kind of clothing, as he is a human raised by elves... according to the author.
Everybody else: Thanks for taking your time to comment!
